HULCK Mover

Industries

From everyday production floors to the heaviest industrial loads — the HULCK Mover handles the internal transport that forklifts and overhead cranes do not.

Whether you operate a single-site moulding plant, a paper mill, an equipment manufacturer’s assembly hall, a foundry or a steel mill, the Mover is configured to your loads, your space and your safety requirements.

What the HULCK Mover replaces

In most operations the HULCK Mover does not enter an empty floor — it replaces equipment that is already there, and it does the job those machines were never quite right for. Two pieces of equipment in particular: the forklift and the overhead crane. Both have their place, and neither disappears overnight. But each has limits — in safety, in flexibility, in routing, in capacity — that the Mover removes.

WHAT YOU HAVE TODAY

The Forklift

WHAT THE MOVER DOES

Replacing the forklift

Forklifts are flexible, but they are also one of the most common causes of serious accidents on industrial sites. Loads ride above operator height. Turning circles demand wide travel aisles. Positioning accuracy depends on operator skill, and operators get tired. Many production facilities are actively reducing forklift movements — replacing them where the load profile, the floor plan or the safety case justifies it.

The HULCK Mover is built for exactly that case. Loads sit low on a rigid platform, never lifted above operator height. Steering systems with turning radii from zero (omnidirectional, differential) to large (single hydraulic) match the floor plan instead of dictating it. Positioning is repeatable, not operator-dependent. And because the Mover travels at moderate speed with full safety instrumentation, the risk profile on the floor goes down — not just for the load, but for everyone working around it. A CNC machining specialist transfers 15-tonne aluminium blocks between stations this way.

For operations evaluating a reduced-forklift or forklift-free floor, the Mover is the most direct alternative for the heaviest, most awkward or most critical loads. A Dutch metal processor made exactly this move — replacing a diesel cart with a custom electric Mover.

WHAT YOU HAVE TODAY

The Overhead Crane

WHAT THE MOVER DOES

Replacing the overhead crane

Overhead cranes are fixed infrastructure. Each crane covers one zone, defined by its rails in the ceiling. Loads that need to pass from one zone to another require a hand-over between cranes — and that hand-over is where production slows down, or stops altogether. In many plants the overhead crane is the bottleneck, not the production line itself.

The HULCK Mover bridges those zones. It travels under, around or between cranes — covering routes the cranes cannot reach, moving loads continuously instead of in zone-by-zone steps. The infrastructure stays where it is; the Mover adds flexibility on top of it.

For plants that are running out of crane capacity, adding a second or third crane means structural reinforcement, longer downtime and a permanent change to the building. The Mover delivers extra handling capacity without any of that — it needs nothing more than the floor it rolls on.

SCALE & BUDGET

Fits your operation, fits your budget

The HULCK Mover is not built for one size of operation. The same engineering, the same configurability and the same support apply whether you are an injection moulding plant moving stamping dies between presses, an equipment manufacturer assembling machines across a production hall, or a steelmaker moving hundred-ton coils between rolling lines. Load capacities, dimensions, steering systems and control modes all scale to what your operation actually needs — not to a one-size-fits-all catalogue product. Operations that traditionally assumed heavy-handling equipment was out of reach often find that a Mover built to their specific load profile fits well within their budget.

Industries we serve

The HULCK Mover is used across industries that share one or more characteristics: tight floor space, heavy or awkward loads, the need to reduce forklift movements, or production flow that fixed infrastructure cannot keep up with. The two groups below cover the operations where we see the Mover making the biggest difference.

Production environments

Operations where floor space is constrained, safety matters and handling equipment must adapt to the production flow rather than the other way around.

Injection moulding

Transferring moulds between machines, between storage and press, between maintenance and production. Moulds are heavy, awkward and frequently swapped — the Mover takes the load off forklifts and overhead cranes and delivers the mould precisely against the machine.

Machine building and equipment manufacturing

Moving heavy sub-assemblies and finished machines between build stations, paint shops, test cells and shipping. Especially valuable in plants where the building was not designed around an overhead crane, or where adding one is no longer practical.

Paper mills

Transferring paper rolls from the production line to converting, packaging or warehouse. Continuous flow without crane hand-overs; cleaner, quieter and safer than forklift handling.

General production floors

Any operation where space is tight, where loads are too heavy for safe forklift handling, or where the production flow needs flexibility that fixed infrastructure cannot provide.

Heavy industry

Operations where load weight, temperature or material value pushes standard handling equipment beyond its limits.

Steel mills

Transferring coils, slabs and billets between rolling lines, heat treatment, storage and finishing. The Mover replaces overhead crane hand-offs between zones, runs continuously between processes and handles loads from a few tonnes to several hundred tonnes per cycle.

Foundries

Moving ladles of molten metal between furnace, refining and casting stations. Heat-resistant chassis, hydraulic lift platforms, ATEX-certified configurations where required. Stability and precision are non-negotiable; the Mover delivers both at temperatures where forklifts cannot operate.

Aerospace & Defence

Engine handling, fuselage transfer, missile and munition transport. ATEX-certified versions available for explosive-atmosphere zones. Precision positioning and explosion-proof construction in one platform.

Shipbuilding

Transferring hull sections, steel plates, welding modules and large structural assemblies across yard distances. Where overhead cranes are limited to single-shop zones, the Mover bridges them.

Lithium-ion battery production

Cell, module and pack transfer in environments where forklift sparks and battery vapours cannot mix. ATEX configurations protect both the equipment and the line.

Wind energy and heavy equipment manufacturing

Nacelle assembly, gearbox transfer, large component movement during build. Where the load is too heavy for a forklift and too far for a crane to reach.

Don't see your industry?

The list above is not exhaustive. The HULCK Mover is configured around the load, not around the industry — and if you move heavy, awkward or critical items in your operation, there is almost certainly a configuration that fits. Tell us about your application and we will come back with a proposal the same business day.
